Digital Switch
A report commissioned by Lennar Communications Ventures, a division of Lennar Corp., found that 47 percent of Lennar's new homeowners switched their Internet service provider when they moved, as opposed to the 21 percent of the general public who switched providers but did not move during the past two years, pointing out that new-home buyers are more apt to switch their provider when they move. The study, conducted by Washington-based Peter D. Hart Research Associates, also found that one in five homeowners who had been cable TV customers upgraded from analog to digital cable when they moved into their new home.
Upgraded Panel
Eaton Corp. has revamped its Cutler-Hammer structured wiring panel to accommodate new digital technologies such as home networks and digital audio. The old, 6-inch panels have been replaced by 12-inch panels that offer the extra space needed for technology upgrades. The new panels also use a thicker gauge of steel, offer more space for electricians to run conduit, and feature enlarged venting holes. Visit www.eaton.com for more information.
